What is the significance of Babasaheb Ambedkar's fight for a uniform civil code in India?

Yes Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar was in favour of UCC, but not having intention like present ruling Govt.his intention was to make society based on equality,and to liberate woman from all religious bondages.

Today's Govt is having polluted intention. They do not utter any single word regarding equality of downtrodden class and woman of their own religion which has been denied religious,social, spiritual and economic rights of 50% woman population of our country. Today's Government having intention to bring UCC it will disturbe the basic fabric of our great country which has just started to become India a nation.
